On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, Amanda Tuttle and Kelly O’Malley from GEI Consultants presented at the 26th Annual Watershed Conference hosted by the Fox Wolf Watershed Alliance in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Their presentation titled, “Connect the Bay: Fostering Collaboration between Public and Private Entities to Restore the Shoreline of The Lower Green Bay” focused on the community engagement aspects of collaborating with other groups working in the watershed. Attendees learned to:
- Identify the challenges and strategies used to collaborate effectively with project partners and ensure compatibility with the long-term goals of participating landowners [and utilize lessons-learned in their projects].
- Describe the design elements relating to mitigation of wave impacts and flooding, habitat creation, and improved public access.
- Evaluate the use of nature-based solutions in green/gray designs and understand the interconnectivity of design choices.
